How the online generator works
- Choose the regime and reporting boundary. Carbon Sorted supports PPN 006 and WPPN 006 workflows.
- Enter traceable activity data. Record the amount, unit, period, evidence and assumptions behind each source.
- Calculate before writing. The application multiplies activity by the selected official factor and totals the required categories.
- Build the plan. Targets, measures and company-voice narrative are assembled around the calculated inventory.
- Review and export. Resolve compliance warnings, complete factual and director review, then export DOCX and PDF.
The calculation boundary is deterministic
The generator does not ask an AI model to invent emissions. Numeric totals come from your recorded activity, units and the selected factor catalogue. Narrative assistance works from those computed facts and is checked against the plan data. Missing inputs remain gaps or documented assumptions; they are not silently filled with plausible-looking numbers.
Supported regimes and product boundary
Carbon Sorted currently supports the PPN 006 and WPPN 006 structures with current UK Government conversion factors. It does not yet claim compliance with the expanded 2027 NHS CRP standard. Check likely applicability first with the eligibility checker and follow any buyer-specific instruction in the tender pack.

What requires human and director review
A person must confirm the source records, organisational boundary, exclusions, assumptions, targets and claimed reduction measures. A board member or director then approves and signs the declaration. Software can structure and test the work; it cannot make those factual and governance decisions for you.
Common questions
Does the generator use AI to calculate emissions?
No. Emissions totals are deterministic: recorded activity is multiplied by the selected official conversion factor. Narrative assistance works from the calculated facts and cannot silently invent a missing figure.
Which Carbon Reduction Plan regimes are supported?
Carbon Sorted currently supports PPN 006 and WPPN 006. It does not yet claim support for the expanded NHS England 2027 CRP boundary, and buyer-specific requirements must still be checked.
Can I submit the generated plan without reviewing it?
No. Your organisation must verify source records, assumptions, boundaries, targets and measures. The declaration also requires board or director-level approval before publication or submission.
